Chaynyi Dionis

About us

Hello! This is Chaynyi Dionis, the owner of this tea space. Here you will find only the tea I drink myself and the teaware I personally admire. For me, this is a place of beauty, aesthetics and genuine tradition, without dogma, esotericism or myths. So, dear friend, settle into a vintage leather armchair and take a cup of tea — let’s get to know each other!

Chaynyi Dionis pouring tea

My tea journey began in 2020, when COVID confined us all to our homes. That was when I discovered a pu-erh that had been waiting on my tea shelf for who knows how many years until I happened upon it. Then came my first tea bowl, my first teapot, my first tea setup, and a long journey of exploring tea. As someone who has devoted his life to art, what sustained and fascinated me along the way was, to a great extent, the aesthetics of tea drinking: the arrangement of the teaware, its visual beauty, the textures of the materials and the play of sunlight in a cup of tea. Tea drinking became a daily ritual of contemplating beauty and eventually grew from a hobby into a craft. Even then, I dreamed of having my own tea space, though it was still a long way off.

In 2024, my tea journey brought me to the Ba teahouse in Kyiv, where I spent almost a year and a half honing my craft: tasting exclusive teas, gaining new knowledge and ultimately developing my own taste. It was a wonderful time among wonderful people, but the moment came to move on.

And so, in 2025, my personal project was born — a place where I share my discoveries, whether a special tea, exclusive teaware or an interesting article I have carefully translated. My project is not as large as many other shops, but everything you see here passes through my own hands: tea I drink myself and serve to friends, and teaware I personally admire. I am always curious to discover something new, special and unique, so the selection is always limited and constantly changing. Take a look at my shelves before someone takes the last cake of rare shu pu-erh or a one-of-a-kind teapot. In the meantime, I will brew you a second cup and put on a Japanese jazz record — that should make our conversation livelier, shouldn’t it? I am always happy to chat, tell you about a particular tea or help you choose a teapot. Over time, my guests become friends, for whom I have prepared special gifts. Take a third cup of tea with you and have a look at the loyalty programme.

Well, I think that is my story. The teapot has just run out of water, and the tea setup invites us to quietly enjoy the beauty of a Japanese ikebana arrangement. Thank you, my friend, for sharing this tea with me. Come again!
