"Jin Ping Mei" Tea Basin, 500 ml
A tea basin—in Chinese, Cha Yu, also known as Zha Dou—is a special vessel for discarding leftover water and tea in the dry brewing (Gan Pao) tradition. A teapot can also be placed inside it.
The pot depicts the "Spring Palace" (春宫, Chungong—a traditional term for erotic art) from the classic Chinese novel "The Plum in the Golden Vase" (Jin Ping Mei), featuring its main characters Ximen Qing and Pan Jinlian, whose relationship is a symbol of passion in Chinese culture. All artwork is hand-painted by Master Peng Yu.
