Cha Yu with Spout, 750 ml
A tea pond—Chayu in Chinese, also known as Zhadou—is a basin used for discarding rinse water and spent tea leaves in the dry-brew Ganpao tradition. Typically, they resemble a pot or jar, but this piece features a spout. This makes it look more like a Chahai or a matcha Chawan, and it is well-suited for those purposes too, especially when hosting a truly large tea session.
The exterior features a rough, sandy clay texture, while the interior is coated in a mottled glaze with a subtle crackle pattern that will develop a noble aged patina over time!
