Sign inArhat (Skt. arhat, Ch. 羅漢 luóhàn) literally means “worthy one” or “one who deserves respect.” That is precisely how this teapot feels to me.
Thanks to wood-firing, it is a one-of-a-kind piece. As kiln ash settles during firing, the surface glazes naturally without the use of any artificial glaze. Truly exquisite craftsmanship.
Crafted at the Qin Feng studio (秦风 “Wind of Qin” — evoking the culture of the ancient Qin state and meaning “Qin style”). Located in Jingdezhen, the porcelain capital of the world, this workshop specializes in premium wood-fired teaware.
