Yixing clay, Master Zhang Yu
“Wild Stone” Teapot, 100 ml
This little teapot is crafted from Yixing clay and fired using the traditional Hei Tao technique. Due to uneven firing, the surface glimmers with a natural luster in some spots, while sandy and reddish patches emerge through the texture in others, reminiscent of copper or metallic rust.
It feels deeply textured to the touch, like holding an ancient stone in your hand. It features a “birdcage” filter and an excellent pour. As a drawback, the small handle might not be comfortable for everyone.
