Sign inIt is not often you come across an Yixing clay Chahai, let alone one like this! Another fine example of “black pottery”. On the outside, it looks and feels like a cast-iron skillet that has weathered the fire. The surface is covered with multiple layers of baked soot that shimmer in the light. Notably, the master claims that this Gongdaobei can be used over an open fire or hot coals to boil water, just as was done during the Longshan culture era around 2000 BC.
It is understated, capacious, and highly practical: the ceramic retains the tea's heat well, while the handle makes it comfortable to pour.
