Aged white tea
Lao Shou Mei, 2017
Weight
A tea so intoxicating you start feeling it the moment you open the package. But first things first:
The leaves were harvested in Kuangxi Village on Mount Dayangshan in Fuding — one of the prime terroirs for white tea production. Here, tea trees grow in harmony with century-old pine forests, absorbing moisture and the scent of the pine breeze. This unique natural setting imparts a clean, refined aroma and a deep, elegant aftertaste to the brew.
It features a dense, rich bouquet of linden honey, florals, and jujube (Chinese date).
Across multiple infusions, the flavor unfolds like a rich dried fruit compote with notes of dried pear, prunes, a delicate fruity-berry tartness, and honey sweetness. Incredibly intoxicating!
Shou Mei is one of those white teas that has great aging potential. Over the years, it develops flavonoids and catechins that boost immunity and protect against viruses. And, of course, they induce that delightfully dizzying tea high :)
