The Zipuxing tea ceramic studio is a workshop based in Jingdezhen, the porcelain capital of the world, specializing in high-end wood-fired teaware. The name 'Zipuxing' (自朴行) conveys the idea of a 'workshop of natural simplicity' or the 'path of natural simplicity,' which deeply resonates with the wabi-sabi aesthetic.
During the firing process, the clay developed an almost glossy surface that plays in the sunlight with hues shifting from gray to reddish-purple. Unfortunately, photos do not fully capture this subtle play of shades.
