Da Jin Zhen (“Big Golden Needles”) is the king among red teas. It is crafted exclusively from large, unopened buds densely covered with golden fuzz.
Xi Yun Da Jin Zhen greets you with a vibrant aroma of spiced caramel, hazelnut, baked potato, and berry pie.
The taste is sweet and honeyed with potato notes, hints of hazelnuts, cashews, and a touch of berry tartness that coats the mouth, leaving behind a lingering finish (shengjin).
This tea is smooth, easy-drinking, and doesn't get bitter even when pushed hard. Definitely one of my favorites!
