Anagama firing by oshe.lesh
Tea Pet "Apple"
What is good and evil? A good question to ponder during a tea session. And this figurine, as an object of contemplation, will come in handy, for it was with the apple of knowledge that everything began. A symbol of good, evil, and paradise lost. True conceptual art.
It was fired using the Japanese Anagama technique—2 days of kiln firing and 4 days of cooling—which gives the surface an incredible texture: in some places resembling glass with crackle glaze, smooth in others, and textured in between. Inside the apple is a hollow space containing small pieces of clay. When shaken, they chime pleasantly, bringing a sense of inner delight.
