Porcelain, Qin Feng Studio
Venus Gaiwan, 150 ml
Crafted in the Qin Feng studio (秦风, “Qin Wind”—referencing the culture of the ancient Qin state and meaning “Qin style”). Based in Jingdezhen, the world's porcelain capital, this workshop specializes in premium wood-fired teaware.
Capacious yet thin-walled, it is best suited for lighter teas: green, white, oolong, and sheng puer. Thanks to wood firing, this gaiwan features a unique finish of crackle glaze and speckles reminiscent of the planet Venus. It is fascinating to examine from all sides, as if genuinely exploring a distant planet—yet gracefully delicate, worthy of the goddess after whom it was named.
